Mass start, day #2
This morning’s riding has been pleasant again, but not quite like yesterday morning. Doing good though, except for some soreness!

Rest stop #2 at Carter’s Lake. Very nice break. I think the last leg is going to be a major challenge, probably featuring some bike hiking.
I am at 47 miles, rest stop #3. Only 5 miles to go, but it’s all uphill. Telling myself I can make it. This is hard. For me, a flat lander.

I MADE IT!!!! I wasn’t sure I would, and one of the SAG wagon ladies even told me she wasn’t sure I’d make it, but I pushed through and did it. A nice woman coaching two young men gave me a mantra that I must have repeated a hundred times: “Stay straight, keep pedaling.”

The temp dropped after a cold front went through last night, so it’s nice today standing in line at least.
It’s all downhill now, at least for today!
Had a great dinner with a guy named William who I met on the tram to the restaurant; we talked about bikes and motorcycles and exes and enjoyed some good Italian food. Down at the camp area now, listening to the One Night Stand Band, having a Purple Haze, and chilling.

Next stop: sleep. The day starts with hills tomorrow.
