Managed to get up at 5am with everyone else (seriously it was a chorus of cell alarms), and made the and made the mass start at 7am. Go me!

I’m 3/4 of the way through day one and it’s been absolutely beautiful so far. I’ve been loving it. Getting used to the hills, but they say this is the flattest day.😲
The rest stops have been beautiful.
Remember how great the first 3/4 of the ride was? Well, the last leg was a scorcher. There was a major, never ending, blazing sun hill to walk up, city streets, and a little getting lost. Ugh! But, I’m indoor camping tonight, which means air conditioning and shade. Plus, they have a splash pad at the community center we’re at, so I spent at least an hour there cooling off before my shower. Feeling much better now.
Not much to do in Dalton this evening, at least for me. Had a carb-heavy dinner then headed back to my little spot on the basketball court. I was able to score a massage appointment at the center here though. It was quite wonderful; I’ve got a huge knot in the right side of my neck. I scheduled another for Tuesday evening.
I’m a little scared about tomorrow… check out the elevation. I think there’s going to be a lot of walking for me and Bianca (my bike) tomorrow. Oh well, I get to the top either way!
